Approach

How we invest.

Rock Vision Investments is a private investment company owned by the Zabadne family. We invest our own capital in real estate, operating businesses, and market-entry ventures across Nigeria, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

Where we invest

Three lines of business.

Each is something the family has run directly, in more than one market.

01

Real estate

Residential and commercial property in Lagos, Damascus, and Dubai. We buy directly, hold on the balance sheet, and manage the assets ourselves rather than outsourcing leasing and maintenance.

  • Direct acquisition and ownership
  • Development and refurbishment
  • In-house leasing and management

02

Operating businesses

Manufacturing, distribution, and specialist products. The family has built and run companies of this type since 1952, including a Nigerian factory that employed more than eight hundred people.

  • Manufacturing and assembly
  • Distribution and wholesale
  • Majority or joint-venture ownership

03

Market entry

Bringing established international brands into markets where they are not yet represented, and building the operation behind them. It is the oldest business the family has, and the one it is most active in today.

  • Distribution and agency rights
  • Import and export
  • Logistics and local operations

Criteria

What we look for.

Stated plainly, so you can tell in a minute whether there is a fit.

Markets

Nigeria, Syria, the UAE, and the United States

We invest where the family already operates and has people on the ground. Syria is where we are most active at present: property holdings in Damascus, and a registered Damascus company trading goods between the United States and Syria.

Assets

Property, operating companies, and distribution rights

Income-producing or development real estate; established businesses with a working management team; and exclusive distribution or agency rights for brands entering our markets.

Structure

Direct ownership, majority or joint venture

We take controlling positions or partner with an operator who retains a meaningful stake. We do not take passive minority positions in businesses we cannot influence.

Capital

Our own balance sheet

Every investment is funded from family capital. There is no fund, no outside investors, and no committee — which means we can commit quickly and hold for as long as the asset warrants.

What we bring

Capital, and people who have run the operation.

Three generations of manufacturing, distribution, and property management across West Africa, the Levant, the Gulf, and the United States. When we invest in a business, we have usually run something like it.

Scope

What we do, and what we do not.

So that no one spends time on a conversation that was never going to work.

What we do

  • Invest our own capital in property, operating businesses, and market-entry ventures.
  • Take direct ownership, either outright or alongside an operating partner.
  • Manage what we own, including leasing, maintenance, and day-to-day operations.
  • Secure distribution and agency rights, and build the business behind them.
  • Give a clear answer, including when the answer is no.

What we do not

  • We are not a consultancy. We do not sell advice, strategy, or services.
  • We do not manage money for outside investors or raise third-party funds.
  • We do not offer, sell, or solicit investments in any security.
  • We do not give investment, legal, or tax advice.
  • We do not lend, and we are not a source of rescue finance.

Process

From first email to close.

Four stages. No investment committee to satisfy and no external approval to wait on.

Stage 01

Enquiry

Send the opportunity with the basic figures and who is running it. We will tell you quickly whether it is something we invest in.

Stage 02

Review

We examine the accounts, visit the asset or business, and meet the people responsible for running it.

Stage 03

Terms

We agree structure, price, and the role each side takes afterwards, then document it with counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.

Stage 04

Ownership

We take the position and support it — capital where it is needed, and management involvement where it helps.

Enquiries
